SPRING - The Adventures of a Mushurai

A 10-page zine documenting an adventurous day in the woods
during the early-spring between a Mushurai and his little leafdog partner, Koyo.

It is an experimental project that explores the usage of 3D sculptures and photographs
instead of traditional 2D illustrations to tell a story.

Final Zine

Story

The story is told in a narrative way from the point of a third person. It explores the curiosity of the Mushurai's little partner towards its owner and the observations of emerging greens during the early spring period.

Process

The characters were hand-sculpted and painted, then put together in an outdoor photoshoot at a nearby forest. Multiple heads of the Mushurai painted with different expressions were created to help express different emotions in the story. The photographs were then arranged with text to finish the zine.
